Which card option would you do?

Right now, I'm torn between 3 cards. One's just a good deal, while the other 2 are really close in performance. So:

an x1800gto, a 7600gt, or a radeon x800xl? Now, I know that the xl is in a different spot altogether, but the thing about it is that I can obtain it for $125 or less; and I have a buyer for my 9800pro that's paying 100 dollars, so the x800xl would be almost free. As for the other 2, after rebates the x1800gto is around 200 bucks, say 250 after taxes and shipping, and the 7600gt is about the same price.

Main thing, for people that have used both an x800xl and one or both of the other two cards, is the extra features and especially performance worth the extra 125-150 (prices in canadian $ btw)?

the dude who's paying $100 for ur 9800 pro is whack.but anyways good for u.
I'd say either the 7600gt or the x1800 gto will be great buys.
The x1800 gto is the better performer when AA and AF is enabled, compared to the 7600 gt.
And if u are buying a gfx card, why would u game without IQ turned up.

I'd go with the X1800GTO for sure

It smokes the X850XT PE imagine what it would do to X800XL

7600 GT all the way No CCC if you hate that stuff and quieter plus usually cheaper than the ATI X1800GTO... However, if the price is very close, go for ATI!

Ya, they're both the same. From the reviews that I'm reading, the gto is the way to go; both are good overclockers, but the gto has hdr+aa and hqaf, and they look really sweet...even though it's cheap, the longevity is short for the x800xl, so I'm going to leave it alone.

I'm sure you'll enjoy the X1800GTO! It's a nice card... I just prefer what NV has to offer these days No .net Mouhahahha! Na apart from that, tis true ATI still has higher IQ so if that's important to you, go ahead! Enjoy

You don't need .net for Omega drivers, or am I wrong?

I would go for X1800GTO too. Some of them can even be unlocked to full X1800XT.

Regards, Partizan

@partizan-The pipes can be unlocked,by soft-modding.(bios flashing)Be sure to back up the original bios.
And it can only be flashed to an x1800 xl or a 256 mb 1800 xt.
If u flash it with 512mb x1800 xt bios u would get into trouble.

Well, I plunked down the cash today for a connect3d x1800gto, now to suffer through the 2 or 3 day shipping period Does anyone know if this one is flashable to an x1800xl/xt? I'm pretty weary of playing with vid card bioses for some reason...since the gto's oc rates seem to be pretty good, I'll take that safe route first.

flash the bios only if u desperately need some extra performance.First go safe by just overclockin. Then later(after about weeks or months)backup the bios and try flashing. If it doesn't work, restore the old one.
