Should be as easy as installing the .net 2.0 service and installing the driver afterwards.
However Windows XP SP2 is only supported now, orignal XP and SP1 are no longer supported afaik.

Thanks Judas,
would net 1.1 work or is net 2.0 required? Also having problems with irq... does not seem optimized.. currently have Abit AT8 32X.. have not had good luck with any motherboards yet.. and thinking of turning the 1950XTX back since for what I want to do.. 6.8 and 6.9 drivers don't seem to work that well. What driver version are you using for your set up? and.. any sample irq set ups that have been proven to work well for crossfire on a socket 939 Ati 3200 crossfire chipset board would be very helpful. I am willing to change boards as needed. Mike |

Heres my suggestion..
Install ONLY .net 2.0 (don't install .net 1.1) Install the 6.6 Catalyst drivers, the later version appear to have some pretty damn nasty bad crossfire related bugs. If you can, try and manually configure all devices to a different IRQ that are shared with the video cards. If that's possible (disable unused devices) You can't move most of them though. ATM, i'm running windows x64, i prefer it a fair amount.

Dont touch windows X64, there is no "additional" support for Crossfire with this OS, and unless you want to run the 5 or so programs that are directly coded for it, stick with the 32 bit version.
As for running driver revision 6.6 this is not recommended if you are running a 1950, the newer drivers have various bug fixes and performance increases for a myriad of games, I havent experienced any issues with 6.9/6.10 with my X1950 CF setup, apart from the fact that crossfire currently is far from a stellar solution mainly due to driver support and control. Install the newest 2.0 framework, and manually arrange your IRQs in the bios if your motherboard isnt auto arranging them well (more information on this would be helpful to diagnose any problems you are having). I wouldnt mind more information regarding your first post, why do you not want to run SP2 and are you experiencing issues with crossfire? |

Hi,
I have XP with SP1. I have a few programs that have problems with SP2. In regards to netframework.. always concerned with potential drm issues in future and each new version seems to have more drms. the irq conflicts seem to be with either my tv tuner card or sound card. A few other things also seem to share with my video card. I have an Abit AT8 32X Motherboard, Dvico Fusion HDTV5 RT Gold tv tuner card and a Auzentech X-Plosion Sound Card. Thanks for the help!
