welcome to DriverHeaven rensu .

as for your question, the 9800 is a far better card any day than the 9550. just because the 9550 has more video memory, doesn't mean that it is better. even the 9800se (the worst 9800 card of all the 9800s that were made) is still significantly better than the 9550. the reason being is because the 9800 has faster memory, faster clock speeds, and if the one you were given was a standard 9800 or better, it will have a 256bit memory bus. having a larger memroy bus means that data can travel faster, faster data travel means better performance .

well, if you didn't read my whole rant up there, just know that the 9800 is better than the 9550 .

I had a 9800 pro and love it since the day I installed it. The other day it died and as a temp I went out and got a 9550. What a joke, doesn't even compare to the 9800. I wasted my money because the 9800 spoiled me and now i'm going to have to buy another one but this time i'm fronting the money for a good card. Just to show ya, I ran a bench on my 9800 and it came out around around 800fps, the 9550 came out at 335fps. That's right out of the box.I think i'm going for an X800, that should be a good, not too expensive jump from the 9800.

Yeah but its still a turd... no matter what kind of stuff you do with it, its still a turd.

Even an uber OC'ed 9550 will get beat by a stock 9800 Pro
