Ati radeon X1600Pro AGP 512MB Driver or Problem?
Hey does anyone know a good driver out there that will help boost my fps or some stable settings to tweak it to for a game like Americas Army. I just bought this today and from what I see I only get like 20FPS in action, not what I was looking for!!! I thought it should be I would think about 60FPS or so. So anyone out there that thinks they got a idea of what could be the problem help me out please!! Right now im running the XTreme-G WarCat Driver.

Greetings and welcome to DriverHeaven!
There are no promises, but, I've found the NGO Optimized Drivers for ATI to work a treat. You can get the latest ones based on CAT 6.12 at www.ngohq.com. Just click on the Files option at the top of the screen and select your download category. Another thing that might help your system is to check how the RAM is set in the BIOS. If it's set to AUTO detect speed, you may be cheating yourself out of some decent RAM performance. Manually set the timings to those specified for your RAM. One other thing may be to set the PCI Latency from 16 [Default] to something like 64 or 80. Good luck! |

Hey man thanks for the reply...How would I know the timings for my ram im using 4 kingston 512mb 333mhz DDR(at least thats what it says on the box). And when you say change the latency I find that in the bios also, and this will not mess up my computer will it? Sorry I'm such a newb when it comes to this stuff, everyone has to learn though...

you could try moveing the performace slider to the left in your control panel.
ajusting in game settings. Resoultion and AA / AF settings two things you can reduce to help fps side note: your FPS when gameing onlie is also married to your internet conection, the servers, and every user who's connected.

You say you just bought the card.
What card did you replace with this one? What steps did you take when swapping cards? Are the rest of your systems drivers up to date? Have you searched for any reviews of this card and tried to run any benchmarks that the reviewer used to see if your card is running at its full potential? |

http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/mod...?mdl=PCVRS430G There's also some manuals for download if you need them: http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/mod...?mdl=PCVRS430G Since I haven't seen what your BIOS is like I can't say for sure what is there and what isn't. You'll need to look around for some advanced settings possibly. |

You cannot change clock and voltage and ram timing BIOS settings on most OEM systems. What steps did you take when you swapped cards? If you want to change the PCI latency of your card then use Ati Tray Tools to do it. I don't think this tweak will help much but you can still give it a go. |
