Arete is on a distinguished road

??? Different desktops when using extended mode

So I got a quick question; I just installed a x1950pro into my machine (and loving every bit of it, not yet ready to go SLI) and I have it hooked up to two 19 inch dells. My question is, whilst using extended mode how do I change the desktop of the second monitor?

I know I can change the resolution and the refresh rate but I would like to change the picture I got too for no good reason other than I would like to Any tips or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

The only way I know how to get it to work with the ATI drivers is to display each background as a Web item. To do this, go into your Display Properties, Desktop Tab, then click the "Customize Desktop" button. On the next window, hit the "Web" tab. In the next window click the "New" button, and for the "Location" section browse to the location of the background you want to use, select it, then hit "Ok". Do the exact same thing for the second background. Hit "Ok", then "Apply". Now on your desktop you should see 2 web items, one for each background. These are actually windows, and if you move the cursor to the top of each one the window bar will appear. Do so, and you can grab onto it, and move it to the monitor you want to. In the top left of the window you should see a little downward pointing arrow. Click that, and choose "Cover Desktop".

After you have all that done be sure to go back into the "Web" tab and choose to "Lock" the items. This will set the web items so that they can't be moved around.

One thing to remember is to pick desktop images exactly the same size as the monitor you are going to display them on. If you don't, when you choose to Cover Desktop it will exand the image to the exact size of the image. So, if you have a monitor that is 1280x1024, and use an image 1680x1050 it will expand to 1680x1050, and part of it will show up on the next monitor to the right in the extended listings.
