I recently upgraded my pc to be able to play Vanguard. When I tried to get the ati catalist drivers installed, I would get an error saying that windows could not find the propper drivers.
I decided to go with the latest Omega drivers and they installed like a dream but when I tried launching the game I got a critical error:

'Please enable Direct3D acceleration. Install dirext x 9.c yada yada yada"

I have already installed dx9.c and when I goto dxdiag it says:
The system is using the generic video driver. Please install video driver provided by the hardware manufacturer.

I confused

specs:

pentium 6400 2.13 Ghz
2 Gb ram
x800 gto 256 vid card
sata HD
56x cd/dvdRW

please help?

Looks to me you need to reinstall Directx 9.0c. Personally I prefer the June2006 update

IN some cases it may be necessary to install the video drivers under Safemode. Try that before anything else. Be sure also to click on the Continue Anyway prompt with the Omegadrivers.

If you still have DX9 problems, be sure to install the latest (Feb 07) update.

If you STILL have problems, be sure to update your motherboard/chipset drivers using the updates from the motherboard manufacturer. If you haven't updated the BIOS recently, check to see if there's an updated one available.
