Welcome to DriverHeaven.

Did you get a CD with the laptop that has the motherboard drivers and chipset drivers?

And, did you get this laptop new or used?

Since it's a laptop, it's really ACER's responsibility to provide support for your video card. However, we all know that most of these companies aren't doing a very good job doing so.

If you download the latest supported drivers from ATI/AMD and then use the DH Mod Tool, you might have some luck. Otherwise, that's a really, really old video adapter in that system.

I've done some searching and found out that that RAGE chip is so old that AMD has dropped it from its Catalyst drivers long time ago. I think that it's one of the first mobile 3D chips ever made. (8 Mb SDRAM)
So there isn't much hope to find drivers for it. I've looked the AMD's driver site with no results.

Yeah, that TravelMate came out originally with Windows 98 installed on it. You're going to lose all your hair before you find any drivers for that video card other than [possibly] in the ATI/AMD Legacy section of drivers. I'm sure you've already looked there.

Missed the fact that he is wanting to use XP.

However: Rage Pro under Windows 2000/XP

Just might be what he's looking for.

From looking at the INSTALLATION links on that page, I'd say no.

It appears that you just D/L and install them using the 'HAVE DISK' option when you get to that point.

It would probably be a good idea to remove all of the old drivers first tho.
