I had the same error when trying to enable Crossfire with Omega drivers version 3.8.421. I had to use Catalyst drivers version 7.10 to enable Crossfire though I'd much rather use Omega drivers. I'm using two X1900XT's on an ECS 580X Crossfire motherboard. I guess the question is this: was anyone out the able to use Crossfire with the latest Omega drivers or does the same error message appear for you, too?

I may be wrong as I don't do Crossfire and I'm presently using VISTA OS. But, I believe I read that you can install CCC and Enable Crossfire via CCC and still use the Omegadrivers.
If you can or cannot do this, let us know. I'd like to verify it for future reference. Thanks! |

Thank you for your tip, Dyre Straits, I didn't try it but it reminded me that the Omega Drivers and ATI Tray Tools can be downloaded and installed separately. As a test, I installed ATT while using the 7.10 Catalyst drivers and CCC. I had Crossfire enabled in CCC, which worked with or without ATT. So I enabled Crossfire in ATT and it worked as well.
Then I uninstalled all ATI drivers and apps, then installed the Omega Drivers only, not installing ATT. I then installed ATT (ATI Tray Tools) to find that I can enable crossfire. YAY! So my guess is there's a problem with the ATT included with the latest Omega Drivers. Needless to say the solution to the problem iNoMaD and I were having with enabling Crossfire through the ATT included with the latest OD is to install each individually and it works perfectly. |
