Easy crossfire question

I know in SLI and Crossfire combining two cards doubles the memory size used, but does it also combine the memory interface size as well, say from 128 bit on both to working together to create a 256 bit interface?

SLI\Crossfire does not double your memory size nor does it double the memory interface size. For instance if for example you want to SLI 2 cards with 128bit memory interfaces and 256mb or ram each you woud still end up with 128bit memory interface and a total usable 256mb of ram. What SLI\Crossfire does is allows one gpu to render one half of the display while the other gpu renders the other half. Memory interface and usable RAM is restricted to a single card.

i can confirm this,

taking 2 1gb hd2900 512bit ring bus and i beleive it's 256bit memory controller and it's interfaces... still results in the EXACT same aside from doubling the GPU itself and what it's capable of producing for overal computational power.
