Sapphire HD3870 Lineage 2 Interlude

Hello I have a problem with my video card Sapphire HD3870, with the game Lineage 2 Interlude, the pc is crashing at 2 or 5 minutes and i have to manual reset, and before that is displaing some artifacts.

I install the last drivers frome Sapphiretech.

Sorry my english, im from Chile, please help me, i dont now if the drivers o my card is having problems.

PD: Without Overclock, nice temperature, is stable whit otthers games, just in the last Virtual Tenis have an artifacts in the opening but after thath is normal, no problem whith 3Dmark06.

Greetings and welcome to DriverHeaven!

We need you to post your system specs, please. Motherboard, CPU, RAM, Power Supply showing the +12V Amp rating and which Windows you're using.

Also, which version of the Catalyst drivers is the Sapphire drivers? The official latest version is 7.11 from Advanced Micro Devices Inc.

There should be an even newer release any day now.

Thanks, my system specs:

Mother Board: ECS AMD690GM

Ram: 2gb (2x1024) Kingston DDR2 800mhz Dual chanel.

CPU: AMD x2 4400+

Sound Card: Soundblaster audigy 7.1

Hard disk: Seagate 300gb SATA2

Video: Sapphire Ati Radeon HD3870

Im using the driver from AMD/ATI, called "crysis hotfix". Whit this driver my pc is no more crashing, but i still have artifacts whit Lineage 2 Interlude.

Hmm if you didn't have such a new video card I'd say use the older driver NCsoft recommends for L2. It's been a long time since I played that game and don't remember which ones they tested and said were best.

I know you can mod old drivers to run with new cards by doing an edit on them and I forget how it's done precisely.

I see you have a Creative sound card and in the past the drivers from those things have caused countless crashes and freezes on systems I have owned. Getting Creative drivers out of my system for good is the best thing I ever did for my rig. They are shoddy at best.

The last ATi card I ran in L2 was an X800XL, and it did fine.

You could uninstall the driver, then uninstall L2. Use driver cleaner in safemode then install the official 7.11 from the AMD site. Then install L2 again. You may also want to grab the lastest direct X from MS. They had a November update I believe.

I'd try it without the Creative card and Creative drivers too and see if it still crashes.

Give this a whirl...

Delete your option.ini file in the lineageII/System folder..

followed by then loading lineageII... everything should be reset to defaults..

Crank EVERYTHING up but set shader to Glow B and DISABLE Improved Shader....

See what happens then....

Ive got the same problem but in most of games. When I reinstalled the drivers it worked nice one day. Next day when i tried to play an error message appeared. I had to restart my pc. I dont know what to do with it..please help me..and sorry for my english

Download the latest 8.2 drivers....

if the problem percists.. make sure you have the latest motherboard chipset drivers and bios is fully up to date.

If everything else fails, then there could potentially be a problem with the video card. Or possibly something else.
