Crossfire enabled, wavy lines on monitor

Hey, i got HD 3870 Crossfire on Asus P5E and for somereason when I enabled crossfire and launch for example, world of warcraft, i get alot of whitish gloomy wavy lines running up and down my lcd monitor. When vSync is on through game options, the problem is solved however I don't like playing with vSync on. I got a Hanns-G 21.6" 5ms using the HDMI connection. Anyone know how to solve this problem?

Thanks

please report the issue to ati support system..

alternatively try using the Alternate DVI frequency for hd displays... or other such settings within the CCC (trial and error)...

Question... why don't you like using vsync? I run with vsync all the time.. only time i don't use vsync is when running benchmarks..... or system tests..... with vsync it's ALOT nicer imo.

Guess your right, vsync does look better. Guess I'll just use it all the time. Thanks

did you try the alternate dvi frequency option just to see?

Cause you shouldn't be getting those lines.. they could potentialy lead to another problem...

well not nessary.. it could be a simple as a not fully or properly seated crossfire internal bridge connector....

I myself have seen this, but i just completely reseated both cards and made sure i plug the crossfire cables properly and fully...... made sure ofthe connections and fired up with no problems.

only thing i occasionally.... once in a blue moon usually 30 minutes after a fresh boot to... is the whole screen will garble up for a split (1/8th of a second)....and then reset and work perfectly.... never happens during a game.. just during browsing the web and using vista casually.

it should be under the display properties within the CCC (under advanced mode)

don't think it shows it since im using hdmi not dvi.. let me plug the dvi in and see.. well forgot what sucks is that this monitor has hdmi and the other is vga which i have to use a vga-dvi plug which will give me less quality than what i got. so guess ill just deal with the vysnc untill i sell this monitor and get a new one.

don't be so sure.... i've seen many hdtvs where using a vga connection has prooved much better over all even if you have to use a dvi-vga converter to get it done...

the only thing i can suggest at this point is to try a vga capable just for the sake of trying...
