i bought the Sapphire HD 2600 PRO AGP i have a few questions about it.. first off the
infmas Driver issue.. im running the Omega 7.12 driver.. and as its the absolute only package that will install for me on XP even the drivers on the Sapphire site would claim to not see my card.. now anyway the Omega drivers install and D3D works but aside form really really low framerates.. which i dident have in vista. btw the card ran perfectly in vista but i dont have enough ram to run vista and all my games.. the omega drivers also put a werid distorted bar at the right of my screen in any game is there any workaround to this i mean ati has been saying they were gonna fix it for the last two driver releases i though it was a good thing when AMD took over ati guess time will tell... now for my second question.. the place i bought this card from said it was Crossfire Readdy.. now i thought to myself its AGP how.. well i did some researching and i came up with some info i found that the last version of AGP 3.0 supported Dual AGP slots now there is no motherboard manufacture to date to make a dual AGP motherboard.. but if they did would Crossfire be possible on the HD 2600 PRO AGP? |

Hi there and welcome to DriverHeaven!
for the first question there has been some issues in AGP cards with official drivers from AMD. I think they are aware of these issues and they are working on solution. For the fps I cant really tell what the issue is. perhaps you have a bit too big AGP aperture size. for your second question, no as far as I know there aren't any motherboards with AGP CF only PCI-E boards. The gfx chip itself is CF ready. |

As for the fps problem. Did you say the card was working perfectly with vista? As in the fps was good in vista compared to xp?
Any other differences you noticed between the two OS? |

Please check out the 8.1 drivers with the AGP Hotfix. Let us know if this solves the problems or not.

I have the 8.1 hotfix and the frame rate is slow but I can now get into Medieval2 TotalWar it runs super slow and is unplayable but no BSOD's this time. Maybe with the next driver they can improve the frame rate with this card or Omega Drivers will get it working better. with his 8.1 version.
As this thread is about the same card I have a question as to how hot can this GPU get before it starts to damage it? |
