Radeon HD 2600 XT/ Microsoft UAA Bus Driver for High Definition Audio Freezes..Help!
Ok so i have a AGP board (yes i know i need to up grade) and i bought a Radeon HD 2600 XT AGP 512 MB GDD3 1080p HDMI to rplace my 1950Xt that had a bug that ATI knows about and has no tech support fixes for it. I installed the card, ran the driver from disk, and it locked up half way through. it would even Ctrl/Alt/Del, or Windows key out of it. I waited 30 mins and still nothing, so i turned off the pc. opened it back up and in the bottom right of the screen it has the windows pop up "found new hardware" tabs, and unerthat in the same tab it said "Microsoft UAA Bus Driver for High Definition Audio" and it freezes up and locks the pc tight as can be. the only way out of it is to again turn off the pc. i have tried emailing their tech support, and no response. i have tried installing that UAA driver by itself, and it goes through the loading process and it says its finished installing and when i restart the pc it still locks up. i went ahead and installed the catalist control center, hoping to find away around it, i have of coarse removed all previous video and audio drivers, if i remove the new video card the problem goes away, but then i dont have the video card working.
I'm a noobie when it comes to understanding this stuff, and i worry i bought a card that isnt compatible with my system, good thing i paid extra for the free return, and company paid return shipping (just incase). so hopefully someone can help me. here are my specs. Video card : HIS HD 2600XT Fan 512MB/256MB GDDR3 AGP 8x
1.93 Ram 500g SATA Hard drive Mach speed mother board socket 478 Chipset: North board VIA P4M800 on board AC"97 Sound Codec chip: REALTEK ALC655 one AGP 4x/8x compatible slot System: Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition version 2002, SP2 DX9 oh yeah i have even started in save mode , and its like it trys do do something in the background and freese up before i can even click on which person to log into as ie admin, or owner tabs.. the only things i can think of at this point is: can the video card being a GDDR3 be compatible, or the DX10 be my issue?....i just dont know why would my systme freeze when it finds the microsoft UAA driver? please post as soon as possible, thanks guys/gals Last edited by leftheart; Apr 25, 2008 at 11:57 PM. with ur 1950 did u try installing it with a catalyst release which has an agp hotfix? This probably wont work since its for some directx issue, but u could try...
https://a248.e.akamai.net/f/674/9206...-476_62410.exe if that doesnt help for the 1950, just try the omega drivers... OmegaDrivers.net - Home of the ATI & NVIDIA Omega Drivers. ATI Windows XP/2000 as far as the 2600 is concerned AMD GAME! Drivers and Utilities and ATI HDMI Audio Device R1.91 from realtek Realtek
