9700 pro HELP!!!

ok me pc goes a bit like this:

xp palomino 1700+
msi k7t turbo v.3
1.5gig sdram
ati 9700 pro (3.4 cats)
audigy 2

the problem is that none of me favorite games work: ie bf1942/starlancer/gta:vc. the games start to boot, and shows all the splash screens. but when it gets to the menu, it just freezes and i have to restart.

the only games that do work are mohaa/il2. these run fine without any problems. i don't have a problem playing these games, but i'm itching to run someone over on gta and bf

i've done everything i can from reinstalling drivers to completely reinstalling windows. i'm starting to feel withdraw symptoms me thinks

any help would be much appreciated.

Do you have fast writes enabled?

..what kind of power supply do you have?

1) i've switched fast writes off.

2) nope its the same as the day that i bought it.

3) 450w psu.

i have to sort this out soon, i'm thinking of turning to a life of crime in order to satisfy my hunger for pain!!!
