AGP 3850 and Wolfenstein Enemy Territory

Hi guys, i'm using a Sapphire Agp hd 3850 graphics card with the 8.7 agp fix drivers also from Sapphire. Ive' been trying to play Wolfenstein Enemy Territory but it wont run and i get this report GLW_start opengl () _ could not load opengl subsystem. Any idea's to the cause and will latest Omega drivers fix the problem

My aging system is an Amd 64 3200 on an asus 754 motherboard, running WIN xp.

Hi there and welcome to DriverHeaven!

It looks like OpenGL driver error, the driver can't be loaded. I have no info would Omega's newest drivers fix this issue.

Should i reinstall the 8.7 driver again to fix the problem or is there something else i need to do?

Did you have this problem on some older drivers you have used in the past?
If not then I would recomend you to uninstall the CAT 8.7 AGP hot fix drivers and install some older drivers.

Hi m8,

This is a new card as replacement for a 1950 pro that was faulty, but had no problem playing the game with that card, i used the drivers that came with the new card but they didnt work very well, i'll try an older agp hotfix set and hopefully it will sort it out.

Thanks alot for help will let you know how i get on.

The HD3000 series is unable to play Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory - it's flat out incompatible I think as it requires 3DFX Glide, which the HD3000s can't render.
You'll have to use an older PC to play that game.

This applies to both the HD3850AGP and 3850/70 PCIe models, presumably the new 4800s as well, not sure about the HD2000 series.

3dfx?? it's too new of a game

it's just the quake3 engine, i wouldnt sacrifice d3d improvements by moving back driver versions

http://www.kn00tcn.net/kn-atioglxx.rar here's 7.10's gl dll, i put this in the same folder as an app that broke with 7.12 cats (while improving other gl titles)

i have the same prob. My gpu is Radeon 3850 256 mb. Cpu Athlon x2 4400
When i launch R.to C. Wolfenstein it Crashes and Blue Death Screen is Splashing.
İ have the 9.6 Ati Driver.
