System Specs

Sapphire 3870X2

I've maxed my 3870X2 out, I can't go any higher in CCC. This makes me wonder if there's still some juice left in it to squeeze out but I have no idea how this could be achieved.

I tried ATT for a short time but it didn't work well with the card, the OC didn't stay where I set it and I couldn't adjust the fan speeds like I could with my old X850XT.

Any suggestions?

Do ATITool or RivaTuner work with the card?

Bear in mind dual cards aren't anywhere near as overclockable as singles, which is unfortunate, put perhaps not unsurprising.

Or perhaps you truly have absolutely maxed your X2
Have you tried a bit of forced cooling? IE. placing some fans blowing cold air directly at/over the card?
That might allow you to OC it a bit more unless you've got the sliders at the absolute max in CCC.
Can we see a screenie?

That's the thing, I've maxed out the sliders in CCC, I can't go any higher and it is very stable.

Ahhh, so that's what you meant. Try the other two programs.
All we have for the 4800s is Overdrive at the moment...

RivaTuner does not work. Haven't quite figured out how to work ATITool yet. :P

Hmm, if the sliders show the right figures, it'll work. If they show 0, it won't.

Well, I tried it and it didn't really allow me to do much. I was able to raise to 891/954 with that tool. It seems like that's the maximum of what's possible with the card.

Haven't tried if it's stable at those clocks yet, I will later today.
