Spore issues on HD 3870
Well I just got spore and installed it today. Everything ran nice and smooth at full settings until I got to the creature stage. I get stretched out random textures all over the screen, I can play just fine, but it does get a bit annoying and after trying the solutions on spore's website (set all graphics to low) I'm still having the same issue. Here's a pic:

Hmm, that's a rather odd one. Which catalyst are you using?

I have the latest, CCC 8.8, I've also updated all my other drivers and directx to the latest release. The only thing to fix the problem so far is to set a profile for spore and do what their website recommends and i set the desktop resolution to 1024x768 and i set the game to that size also, same refresh rates too. It solves the problem, but then the game looks stretched out on a 19" ws and i have to reset my desktop res. each time i finish playing.

This is a long shot, but try to set AA and AF on driver level to "let application decide" or whatever it is called.

What BlueMak suggested worked for me, just created a profile on ccc for spore so I disabled AA and AF for spore only, and now things run smoothly on any resolution.

I have the 4870X2 and don't get the bug, crossfire on or off. What I do notice though, is that the game lags a little with CF enabled, presumably due to it being unsupported, so it's recommended you disable Catalyst A.I. to play Spore.
