anyways im going nuts when ever i try and play games like quake wars or halo or any game liek that i get real bad glitches and sometimes when i exit the game my desktop gets the same way and i have to restart ive tried diffrent drivers and reinstall windows xp pro sp3 like 3 time. my card didnt always do this .. now i go long time frames with out playing games ex. i have not played a game like halo for about 8 months . within that time i do change os and other stuff and its been so long i dont know what i was running.. i think it might be sp3 that is messing with me any help?!?! or ideas?.. o and one more thing it has a plug on the card to connect the 4 pin power cord . i use to be able to run the card without that pluged in . now my pc wont post unless it is plugged in .

My guess is that it is either a bad driver, try more drivers, or an about to die graphics card.

It's a faulty card. Either GPU or memory. I saw the same problem on more occasions and only RMA helped.

Faulty GPU, a 9800 will probably be out of warranty by now, time to upgrade...
