XFX to make Radeons
XFX was a Nvidia exclusive maker, but I understand they are going to swing both ways from now on and it comes just when ATI is relaxing on the 4850 and 4870 reference designs. ATI letting their partners design their own versions. Makes me wonder if XFX will do something radical for a Radeon

Re: XFX to make Radeons
if they do swing both ways its most likely to make more money.. instead of making money off one company they can make money from both companys

Re: XFX to make Radeons
It would be more helpful to XFX as they could still sell whatever is the current performance leader (Now ATI) and if/when Nvidia regains prominence it would still be able to sell those. It would have the effect of steadying the production rate XFX does, giving them a business advantage of repeatable consistency no matter who is currently on top, Nvidia or ATI.
What I was really getting at is XFX has been a innovator with Nvidia cards and Now that ATI has relaxed the rules in regard to the reference design. Maybe we'll See a real performance value with the Radeon 4850's and 4870's

Re: XFX to make Radeons
XFX didn't jump ship. Technically, they have a foot on both ships.

Re: XFX to make Radeons
XFX is a very innovative GPU manufacturer, I wonder how the first ATI XFX GPU's will look. This isn't the first time an AIB has went ATI this year, Gainward did earlier this year.
