2x 4670 vs 1800xl

i have a 1800xl in my wifes comp & a new 4670(courtesy of dh) that i have not used a yet. the 1800xl is better than 1 4670 but wiil there be enough perf differnece to justify buying 2nd 4670.
also crossfire stability is a huge issue. my wife hates it when i change someting & her comp acts hinky. lol.
fwiw i have been running a 7950gx2 in there but it having weird issues(believe this is my 4th vers of this card) & im tired on sending it in to evga for yet another card that will tank on me in a few months.
any advice/rec appreciated

mike, how could the x1800xl perform better than the 4670? check out the toms charts

, 2x would be smokin!

crap i knew they had imrpoved a LOT since i got the 1800xl & the 7950gx2 but that is ridiculous. u know how much those cards were back when i got them... lmao. just assemed cause the 4670 was really cheap... what i get.
4670 it is. given that the only game that is played on that comp at the moment is gw dont think i need to get the 2nd card at this time.
hearing ati is finally getting crossfire to scale/perform/ be more stable. u got any experience with it?

even a HD2600XT performs on par with a x1800xl... so the 4670 is considerably better then that again.

i remember when i paid nearly $800 per x1900xtx (got 3 of them)...... and look at what i've paid for a single HD4870..... it's quite irritating while thrifty feeling all at the same time.

btw.. i have crossfired 2 hd4670's... they scale quite well provided the game/3d app works with it...

BUT, i really doubt it will be necessary.. save your money... you'd be better off investing in more ram.

know what u mean that 7950gx2 pos cost me $500. & this will be the 4th time i will have returned it.
never had any problem with a vid card like i have with pile of crap. not even sure i want to send it back into evga as they will jus tsend me another one. again. counting shipping, got around $600+ into that card.
