Windows not recognizing Graphix card

After reformatting my computer, windows no longer detects the hd 3650 ddr2 agp graphics card in my computer. The graphics card that is currently used is the onboard one. i cant install any drivers for this because i always get the error that there are no drivers compatible with your hardware. the odd thing is that the monitor is connected to the hd 3650 and it is working but as i said windows still for some reason does not recognize it. Thus i cant play anything other than going on the internet.
(before reformatting this card was detectable and was working fine)

Re: Windows not recognizing Graphix card

First up, welcome to the forums.

The first thing you must do is to make sure that you install the chipset drivers for your motherboard. This is especially true if you are running Windows XP, but not so much a big deal with Vista/Windows 7 as those operating systems will know more about, or rather have better support for your motherboard, and it's components.

After that you will need what's known as the "AGP Hotfix" drivers for the version of Windows you are using (current release is based on Catalyst 9.6 drivers). You can get those HERE. Keep that page bookmarked, as any new drivers will be posted on that page. These drivers are made specifically for the AGP versions of cards based on the HD2000 and HD3000 series of cards.
