Re: Unigine Heaven Benchmark - DX11 - download here!

It's a very pretty demo. Runs really well too. Smooth frame rate the whole way through. Not sure how it's a benchmark though. I don't see any frame rate indicator. Gonna play with the settings and see what I find.

Okay, figured out the benchmark portion:

Average: 63.1
Low: 35

Everything at defaults except fullscreen and resolution to monitor's native res.

Re: Unigine Heaven Benchmark - DX11 - download here!

DX10 vs DX11 results with a single HD 5870 @ 1k GPU-

1920x1200 DX10 default filtering = 64.9 FPS/Score 1635
Imageshack - heavendx10

1920x1200 DX11 default filtering = 41 FPS/Score 1032.
Imageshack - heaven11

BTW if you want to run DX11 on Vista it's an easy fix-

Yeah, not sure the point you are making man, unless you need to update your system specs to make your 4850 a 5xxx series card, DX11 mode isn't going to work on your hardware anyway.

Re: Unigine Heaven Benchmark - DX11 - download here!

I didn't say anything, but I was wondering that as well. How, exactly, did he compare Dx10 versus Dx11 when he can't even run anything in Dx11 mode. He can enable Dx11 mode, but it still falls back on rendering Dx10.1 or flat 10, hardware limitation.

Pity no one here saw my tongue in cheek but were keenly making fun of what seemed to be a dumb statement. Far away from it but thank you for taking the bait

My point?

Talking about this benchmark here how can this software allow me to select DX11 for test when my card can't do that? It's simple for them to check the card's capabilities and disable inappropriate options, no?

have a great day folks!

And as I said, you epic failed to understand how Dx works. While it IS nice of a developer to just gray out unsupported functions, it's no rule they have to at all. Dx will always fall back on the next lower level if hardware support for a specified level is not present. So, your hostility is misplaced.

Bait? So the next quote was part of your ingenious plan?

Really? You sure of that? How sure? Considering you rendered nothing in Dx11 at all, how did your detail levels increase? Your score being identical should clue you in here, nothing was different because Dx11 mode rendered in Dx10 on your card, that's all that happened. Any Dx11 changes to scenery were not present in your run, look at your scores again.

Re: Unigine Heaven Benchmark - DX11 - download here!

ah come on, don't ignore me Can we REALLY get this thread back to the topic of the benchmark?

Anyone else got benchmark results to post? I ran it earlier on the 5770 and I have to say at 2560x1600 it tanked. ill get another one and try crossfire this week.

More results would be nice from the other ATI owners on DX11 hardware (or even those on DX10 hardware!)

I was just curious seeing as with one post you say you see a difference, and the next you pretend you were acting all along. I'm sure you can see how that stretches credibility.

Nor ignoring you. Just want to get to the bottom of the claims made. Either he made up the part about seeing a difference (part of the masterful act), or made up the part about acting like it was all an act all along. I just think it's poor form to pretend like that when benchmark numbers are being exchanged. It does nothing to make any points, and honestly looks more like a cover up.

Re: Unigine Heaven Benchmark - DX11 - download here!

ok, guys, ive asked twice. ive been ignored twice. Therefore the thread is closed.

No one to blame but yourselves. If you want to talk about this benchmark again, then open another thread (which would be nice as that is what the thread was meant to be about in the first place).

Next time im ignored twice with polite requests, virtual asses will be kicked.
