I don't think you'd have a problem with the PSU.

Re: Finally buying a new card... EAH5750
Shouldn't be an issue at all. Those 5750's don't draw a ton of power.

Re: Finally buying a new card... EAH5750
Yes , I think it is sufficient unless you wanna do some overclocking and modding you can go the safe side for +600 watts but I think the 500 will do it just fine as well. 5850 draws about +/- 120 watts add to that the cpu / HDD/ ...etc your system load overall shouldn't exceed 400 watts in full load.
You can check this site to be sure , unfortunately it doesn't list 5750HD but you can list all your system specs without the GPU then add 150watts to the total calculated power.http://extreme.outervision.com/psucalculatorlite.jsp btw , the card price is very reasonable and the cooling fan looks really nice

Re: Finally buying a new card... EAH5750
Hope that works on your motherboard my XFX HD5770 refused to boot on my old MSI K9A Platinum (AMD 580x chipset) because the motherboard couldn't power the card. Motherboard reported overclocking when I put my old card back in that board. Although it is happy on my Giga-byte MA790XT-UD4P with my 500W Fortron Source power supply so if you have issues it isn't likely to be your PSU.

Re: Finally buying a new card... EAH5750
hmm crap that would suck. My current video card is powered by the PCIx port only, but I believe this new card has power inputs for the PSU
will have to check, I took the slow-snail delivery option to save the most $ |

Re: Finally buying a new card... EAH5750
yeah, the HD5770 has an external power connector, not sure about the HD5750 though, but I know on my particular card that connector wasn't enough I guess at least for the HD5770. I hope it works on your board. I don't know if what I experienced will be common or not, but I hope in your case it isn't.

Re: Finally buying a new card... EAH5750
ahhh I was too tempted so I went home for lunch and installed it
It works but I did notice some odd things... very odd things 1) suddenly my computer detects a "Floppy Disk Drive". I don't have one installed... wtf? I removed it from "My computer" by disabling it in the Device Manager ... very very odd! 2) my PC would not post at first. No idea why. I reset my BIOS to default and still ... it said "go into the bios settings and reset to default, or press F1 to continue" so I pressed F1 and it booted fine ... no clue what it could be but I'll investigate more tonight 3) Tested borderlands, maxed everything out. Some wall decals just show up as dark grey ... tried disabling this and that in the graphics options and still.... my Windows 7 Experience meter went from 5.8 to 7.2 in both graphics settings. I'll investigate the odd happenings later |

Re: Finally buying a new card... EAH5750
oh well looks like the Borderlands gray texture issue has something to do with 9.11 A.I. stuff from ATI (I had 9.10 on my old card --> I uninstalled the drivers, shutdown my PC, installed the new card, started my PC and installed 9.11)
Missing Textures/Gray Textures - Gearbox Software Community I am GUESSING (this is just a wild one folks) that the "Floppy Disk Drive" that showed up in "My Computer" under the letter F: has something to do with the power connector I used for my new card. The PCI-X power connection is on the same set as the floppy connector .... it's a GUESS.... I could be totally retardedly wrong here. |

Re: Finally buying a new card... EAH5750
The floppy could be from resetting the bios.......

Re: Finally buying a new card... EAH5750
well this is pretty sick
I'm maxing out in arkham asylum, borderlands, team fortress 2 etc...... and everything is smooth as hell. I always thought maybe my CPU was going to hurt me (AMD X2 6000+ 3.0ghz stock speed) but it looks like it was mostly my video card! woot woot |
