4870X2+4870 to 4870X2 + physX which?
I'm just wanting to know if I would score a higher benchmark changing over my 4870 in my setup for a card with physX?

perhaps but to get ATI cards and NVIDIA cards to work together can be a frustrating procedure to say the least

Re: 4870X2+4870 to 4870X2 + physX which?
I have recently succeeded in getting a 4870+9800 working for physX in Divinity II and have witnessed the remarkably acheivable scores attainable in 3DMark Vantage with physX enabled. But would hanging onto my 4870 in my setup instead for opting to physX acheive a greater score?

With the nVidia card in the mix you will most likely get better numbers in 3DMark Vantage.
You will most likely get better gaming performance with the 2nd 4870. So the questions is, which do you value more? Benchmark performance or gaming performance?

Re: 4870X2+4870 to 4870X2 + physX which?
Heres what i've found..
the HD4870x2 coupled with a nvidia card vs another 4870 is highly benificial with the physx when such an app can use it. otherwise the 2 4870's in crossfire for triple crossfiring is better.. And it's relatively easy to get the 2 cards working now. Windows 7 + ATI card drivers installed first + Nvidia 191.07 drivers installed WITHOUT REBOOTING + Glen's Nvidia Physix patch applied THEN reboot + Setting ATI as primary and "Forcing" a display on the nvidia card even without anything hooked up = love....

Nice graphics setup you've got there btw ArmoR331
![]() Yes, I would think you will see an increase in the benchmark score with the nvidia card, it will take the physx load off the cpu

i'm currently testing out and see how well this triple monitor gaming is on ati's 5xxx series.....
I think they've nailed what i was talking about since 2006

Re: 4870X2+4870 to 4870X2 + physX which?
no... but i've tried the 5770 with geforce 9600gt using the glen mod to enable physix.. just make sure you have the 191.07 nvidia drivers installed as newer ones prevent the mod from working purposely

![]() BTW - Looking to get a new 40~42" 1080p LCD Flat Panel for my bedroom, looking to connect my gaming rig to it via HDMI as well. Hopefully my current 4870 will work fine in this configuration

The only thing about PHYSx is that it's only at prenatal form because there are none decent games out there harnessing it yet! I'll stick with my twin RAzOrs.

Re: 4870X2+4870 to 4870X2 + physX which?
I've got a number of machines with 2x Pci-ex 16x slots and 1 4x pci-ex slot.
Run the 2 main video cards in the 16x slots and a physix card in the 4x pci-ex slot. I've ran a considerable number of tests, and there is no a single different while running physix mode, between a 16x slot and 4x slot in terms of performance.

Re: 4870X2+4870 to 4870X2 + physX which?
My motherboard only supports twin singular x16 PCI-Ex. It's the Gigabyte X48-DS5 motherboard which I think beats anything I've ever had especially in overclocking. Also even if I had a third slot I couldn't really use it cause I love Creative.

Re: 4870X2+4870 to 4870X2 + physX which?
i'm going to give it a try.. but i also think the 9600 works flawlessly in the pci-ex 2x slot to..
I had a radeon x700pro in a 2x slot without issues... looks weird though
