ATi Catalyst Mobility 11.12 display drivers for notebook computers (13/12/2011)
These drivers should work for all notebooks with a compatible ATi GPU (See supported devices list below). This is especially useful for (but not limited to) notebooks manufactured by Toshiba/Sony/Acer/Panasonic in which the ATi Mobility Download Utility is blacklisted, preventing users from installing the drivers from ATi website. Re: ATI Catalyst 10.12 For Toshiba/Sony/Acer Notebooks - Get it here!
Am I the only one who is still stuck on CCC 10.5? Yes, 10.12 works, but GPUz, Afterburner, GPU Tool, and everything else shows my core and memory at 0 MHz. If I want to be able to use Afterburner to overclock, I have to stay on CCC 10.5.
Link works great otherwise. |
Re: ATI Catalyst 10.12 For Toshiba/Sony/Acer Notebooks - Get it here!
Done everything according to the instructions, including Driver Sweeper, safe mode, rebooting, etc. Sadly, my result on Acer Aspire 8935G with ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4670 is...
not working. During install I saw a warning that incompatible VGA adapter is disabled. Upon checking in Device Manager in Vista 32, I see that indeed the HD 4670 has been disabled by the installer. Upon rebooting, the Catalyst Control Center is not responsive. Last option, manual install, failed as well. |
Re: ATI Catalyst 10.12 For Toshiba/Sony/Acer Notebooks - Get it here!
Sounds like a problem in Vista , related to DirectX 10.1 .
What drivers were you using prior to 10.12 install? Do you have Vista SP1 installed? or SP2? You should uninstall Vista service pack and try the driver again. If you plan on doing so, remember to backup your system first. |
Re: ATI Catalyst 10.12 For Toshiba/Sony/Acer Notebooks - Get it here!
"What drivers were you using prior to 10.12 install?"
These from here. "Do you have Vista SP1 installed? or SP2?" Windows Vista Home Premium SP2 32-bit. Itīs a brand new laptop with SP2 pre-installed. I am trying to find a newer version of the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4670 driver because the picture on the monitor gets degraded in quality progressively the more time goes from the system boot-up. Sometimes it is only showing me solid white, then green, then red, then blue, etc... all across the monitor, upon booting up. I suspect hardware failure, but am hoping that it is a driver issue. Do not want to lose access to laptop because of important work I really need it for right now. Thank you. |
Re: ATI Catalyst 10.12 For Toshiba/Sony/Acer Notebooks - Get it here!
Problems during boot time are always hardware related. The drivers don't load until windows does, so I suggest you send it for repairs before it fails.
Also, it's time to upgrade to Win7 . |
Re: ATI Catalyst 10.12 For Toshiba/Sony/Acer Notebooks - Get it here!
Not during boot time. It boots fine. I log onto Vista and all. The problems start couple of minutes AFTER Iīve booted up, logged in, started working, etc.
Also, I tried 10.11 version, from this post in another thread. Sorry to say... same result. No go. However, aware that it might work for someone else. It does not for Acer Aspire 8935G, Vista 32-bit, though. Thanks anyways. As for upgrading to Windows 7... wish I had the time. Vista will have to do for now. |
Re: ATI Catalyst 10.12 For Toshiba/Sony/Acer Notebooks - Get it here!
I followed the steps and it wouldn't install anything but the install manager (not even CCC). So I used Mobility Modder and ran the exe @ C:\Ati\Support and it worked. Vista, 32bit.

@ Mineiro
Great to hear. Which ATI card do you have? Which laptop? I tried Mobility Modder on Acer Aspire 8935G, ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4670, Vista 32-bit. No joy. Again, everything according to the instructions here. To the letter. But no. Quote:

Re: ATI Catalyst 10.12 For Toshiba/Sony/Acer Notebooks - Get it here!
Oops, forgot such basic details:
HD4650 It's the HP dv6-1180ep. Also, my old post is wrong. I actually manually installed after using DriverSweeper (using device manager). After Vista fell back to the generic driver, etc. Running the .exe at C:\ATI\Support did nothing. |
Re: ATI Catalyst 10.12 For Toshiba/Sony/Acer Notebooks - Get it here!
Nice. So manual install via Device Manager, after uninstall and running Driver Sweeper is another way to go.
This probably means no Catalyst Control Center. Only driver gets installed, I presume. No way to control RGB color balance, 3D settings, etc. |
Re: ATI Catalyst 10.12 For Toshiba/Sony/Acer Notebooks - Get it here!
I assume that if you install the driver using setup.exe afterwards it'll install CCC (it left the driver untouched before, after all). Haven't tried it, though.

Re : ATI Catalyst 10.12 For Toshiba/Sony/Acer Notebooks - Get it here!
Many thanks LQDForce, i could upgrade my 7 months old Dell drivers, i won about 10 FPS in 3D applications.
However my ATI Mobility HD 550v is detected as a HD 4650 in the device manager, i guess it's normal : ATI Mobility Radeon HD 550v - Notebookcheck.net Tech Now I wonder if there is a simple way to stay updated, I do not want to be stuck at the next release of drivers, have you done something special ? What is the source where you can find these drivers ? I look forward to your reply and sorry if my English is not "perfect". |

Memory Size 2231 MB Memory Type HyperMemory And not mention the physical memory? |

:(
nO LUCK for me : http://i55.tinypic.com/dmpvg5.jpg It stays on 10.12 instead of the new 11.1 version. only thing that works is the new control centre 2. |
re: ATi Mobility Catalyst 11.5 Display Drivers For Notebooks (09/05/2011)
I have a desktop system and noted that the version seemed to stay the same on the 10.12 to 11.1 upgrade. but it's a typo in the file. The build number changed and it's the 11.1, it just reports itself as 10.12. Might be the same in your case.

re: ATi Mobility Catalyst 11.5 Display Drivers For Notebooks (09/05/2011)
Hello folks!
This is my first post in your fine establishment, and I find it important to state that my Toshiba Satellite A665D-S6091 CAN USE this newer 11.1 driver. Ironically, I downloaded and tried it just as the thread was being updated to 11.2. The 11.1 drivers DO work, but the long process involving cleaning files MUST be done in order for it to work. Do not ignore me and try to install the 11.1 over your old drivers because your screen will black out and the laptop will freeze and you'll spin your wheels. Just do the long process and everything will work. I'm too busy to try right now, but later I'll look into trying 11.2. I'm going to assume that it'll work as well & in the same fashion. These updates are important because machines like mine are running switchable graphics that I've found are nearly impossible to update without manufacturer approval. Thanks for the links! The laptop shipped with some unstable drivers and the Toshiba updates were marginally better. I love this machine, but it's all the better when I can actually game with it. |
re: ATi Mobility Catalyst 11.5 Display Drivers For Notebooks (09/05/2011)
Laptop: HP Pavilion dv7-4285dx
Graphics Card: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 6370 s I immediately wiped the machine after getting it because of the crapware and HP doesn't have the ATI drivers posted anywhere and their techs are incompetent. I tried several sites and ATI downloads to get this going. This worked perfectly! I have a switchable graphics card, but only the intel was being used because of the driver issue. Simply uninstalled my previous ati attempts and ran driver sweeper, did the install normally and it all just worked! |
re: ATi Mobility Catalyst 11.5 Display Drivers For Notebooks (09/05/2011)
Laptop: DELL Inspiron M501R
Graphics: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4200 Series OS: Win 7 HP x64 Drivers: from the 1st post Result: Full Success :D Cheers everybody! |
