Dealt with www.newegg.com for awhile now and they have to be the best online vendor I've dealt with. Shipping is really fast and the prices are generally close to being the lowest. RMA policy is excellent as well.

i'd have to agree with matt01. www.newegg.com is by far the best online store for pc hardware. i've been dealing with them for quite some time, and never had a problem, great site layout, great rma policy, great selection, and every single item has its own msg board "customer review". i highly reccomend dealing with them.

Oh!! I almost forgot the best part. With each order they offer a free gift depending on what you purchase

.... I'm running a BUILT BY ATI 9600 128mb non pro..... i must say, that they are excellent.... rather quite a difference between 9200 and 9600 for sure...and even huger between even earlier model cards... (abviously, but in windows alone i mean).... 3D exceptional... i also gained twice as much juicy fps in my 3D render for signatures or wallpaper at 1920x1440.... now it's not a eye strainer)

pro:400/300(ddr) npro:324/200(ddr) all cards today will support 32bit colours if not then it's more likely to be driver fault. |

How do you like that card? Do you use drivers from ATI? I know, I ask too many questions.

nope mine is not fanless but is not noticeable due to 2 80mm case fans and one modified cpu fan which is 80mm as well but are more efficient.but still fairly quite considering. the fanless 9600 pro is the "ultimate" version from sapphire. but i would choose to pay a few pound extra for a pro over np. as for the 9600pro it to me anyway is an excellent card for the mid range gpu's.i get around 13k in 3dm2k1 and this card is a mean overclocker to. stock speeds are 400/300(ddr) but i currently run mine at 450/330(ddr). ati cards from 9500 upward are dx9 supported. but personally if it were not for cash i would like at least the 9800pro but prefer 9800xt but that is out of the window. |

you can get drivers from Sapphire's website or ATI's. I have a Sapphire 9500 np and it is a great card. I might steer away from the 9600np and see if you can find a 9500np

If you're buying a sapphire 9600 pro from Newegg make sure you don't buy the 'lite' version. It is equipped with inferior RAM, the oem version of the full retail is available for near the same price (actually it's cheaper right now). Still I cannot recommend the 9600 pro fully, as I am one of the unlucky consumers for whom the card is EXTREMELY unstable.

I've tried toggling Fastwrite in bios and smartgart, turning AGP Write off in smartgart, decreasing hardware acceleration slider, disabling write combine, omega drivers, catalyst drivers, disabling 8x agp, increasing voltage to 1.7v (max for my mobo... any way to kick it higher? 1.8 seems to be where other people are really having luck)... um... changing aperture size...
I hate this card. Well that's not true. It works awesome when it IS working. I hate the gods conspiring against me to wreck my beautiful system! ![]() And I dun think it's a power supply problem. I just upgraded to an Antec True430 and the rails are almost dead on (except my 12v is like ~.4 off) It's sickening. |
