S4Biturbo is on a distinguished road

Is this normal for a Brand new 9800XT?

I've had my new Asus 9800XT up and running in my new rig now for a week. Its runing along side an Asus P4C800 Deluxe and a P42.6C 800FSB with 512MB Corsair XMS Pro 4000.

I cant even overclock 5MHZ on the card without getting white particles all over the screen in 3DMark03. I dont get anything in 3Dmark2001SE but loads in the other.

The card now is artifacting in 3Dmark03 at standard settings! but nothing in any of the other benches. As far as games go I havent seen any problems apart from a few NFS underground issues which a lot of people have had?

Just wanted to know, should my card be artifacting in 3Dmark03 or is it just the benchmark itself.

I'm using the OMEGA drivers BTW.

Cheers.

Those cards require higher than normal Agp voltage. Try bumping it up a little.

What do the voltage increments go up in on your board mate? mines an Asus P4C800 Deluxe.

My 9700p artifacts (little black dots- mostly in exactly the same place which is weird) on 3dmark 03 test 2 & 3 with even the smallest ram OC with my 9700p. If I don't OC at all I see little black dots are still there, but not nearly as bad. Funny thing is I see these artifacts in no other game or demo ever. Even if I OC to the point of the thing freezing 377/350 I don't get the artifacts in other games. I think it's just the benchmarks fault.

I agree with that. Cause they should show up in most benchmarks if the card is unstable right?

BWX mate remember AGP ishue hehe we talked about well those problems your getting is to do with fastwrites and even if you disable you will still get problems what it is is your motherboard is not fully compatible with the ati cards specs if it was you would be able to use fastwrites and get no artifacting.... S4 with my hercules 100% refrence designed 9800 XT i get no problems what so ever with NFS underground... the only problems i get and this is a game ishue is no AA unless i turn off Motion Blur and Trail Lights Blur and one other thing if your artifacting in nature or the halo type demo in 2003 then i would return the card infact persionaly i would return it anyway and get a 100% refrence designed 9800 XT every problem i have encountered with 9800 XT problems is with ASUS XT cards... just to prove a point. and most of the time its hardware ishues

Well it's kinda funny, I had a gigabyte mobo before, and it did the same thing. On top of that, it was a bran new made by ATI retail card when I bought it.
Yesterday I played Deus Ex IW all day with it OC'ed to 351/324 for about 6 hours with not one artifact. I played NFSu all last week at the same clock speed, no problems, no artifacts. Just in 3dmark 03 test 2 and 3 AND just with AA off. When AA is on the artifacts are gone. This card OC's to 370/340 and will loop benches all say. - I did take 2 cards back before I got this one. And I don't have fastwrites on either. So I don't know. I always thought it was a problem with 3Dmark03.

I guess if I was inside my 30 day store warranty and I hadn't modded my card, I would take it back and get another one to see if it did the same thing. Maybe that's what Audi Bi-Turbo should do. I guess I would if it was a bran new card.
