new system

thinking of building a new system,OCZ EL DDR PC-4000 Dual Channel 500MHz 2x512 Meg 184pin DDR SDRam Dimm (3-4-4-8) ,AMD Athlon XP 3200+ Barton 2.2GHz 400MHz Bus 512k Retail (Socket A) ,Asus A7N8X Deluxe NVIDIA nForce2 Ultra 400 Socket A, 3xDDR Dimm 3gb, DMA/133 + SATA150, Audio & Lan, ATX ,these are the parts im thinking of buying,anyone tell me if im making a wrong move here,ill be putting a 9800 128 pro,soundblaster a2 ,probably one of those fancy cases,i think the ones at the shop here are 500 watts,any suggestions for any changes or would this be a good system

System Specs

I guess you aren't having any budget problems but even so the AthlonXP 3200+ model CPU is certainly not priceworthy. Taking just a small step downwards will save quite a bit of money. Or if you like spending money then go for an Athlon64 while you're at it.

no money is an object thats why im not getting 64,thinking of waiting untill they drop,whats the next down ? 3000xp,then you drop to 333mhz?

Actually there is a 3000 Barton that runs 400 FSb and is at 2.1Ghz.

you dont EVER want to use anything above pc3500 with AXP mobos. Get some mushkin level 2, it has much better timings, (2-2-2) and they have a large impact on performance.

what about the new a7n8x-e,and you say there is a 3000 thats runs 400mhz,ok what would be the best ram for this then,anyone know?6 months ago i dint know the diff between ram and a motherboard!!!thanks for all the help and i love learning about all this,and to go to 64 i would be looking at twice the price or more wouldnt I ?what about performance cooling,im thinking of a thermaltake(i think thats the name) tower 500 watt with 8? fans i think,is this a good choice?The alien tower?
