It's off as long as you don't turn it on.

i wish it were that simple...

i keep trying to run a few different things, emulators mostly, like M.A.M.E and UltraHLE...now mame atleast has an option to be able to disable the effects of the anti-aliasing...but UltraHLE doest...and everything looks fuzzy...its driving me nuts =[

the options are in the place i have highlighted on the image.for d3d,then the same for opengl.

tick the custom box then enter.

then tick the application boxes.

thanx for trying man...but that doesnt turn it off...M.A.M.E and Kawaks still anti alias when useing the hardware...

if youll notice, when you go back after unchecking the application preferences, it still says "Anti-aliasing *x" and "Anistropic filtering *x" no where does it say "off" =[

im not trying to be annoying or anything...i just know that the older drivers for the radeon cards had an "Off" option...i just hate the way stuff looks "fuzzy" with the anti aliasing =[

Having it set to "application preference" is OFF as far as the driver is concerned. If you still get antialiasing then it's because of the application. I don't have either of them installed but isn't MAME an emulator for old 2D arcade games? Then there might be settings for it that handles techniques like antialiasing, and the graphics card doesn't run antialiasing on anything that is 2D. Software 2D antiliasing has nothing to do with 3D hardware. Hope that solves it.

thats no problem and were not annoying or anything...

its just the answer i thought you were after but i have only had a ati card since the release of 3.6 cats so i were not aware you could totally disable it.

I had the same strange thing with mame and my ati card. Still not sure if the fuzzy effect in mame is from my ati aa or if its in the mame engine. I do notice a much clearer view though when i put it on "application prefence".

How and what did u fix stackups immy?

(i did not have any problems making mame run by the way... just its fuzzy, vertical scanlines 75% do fix a lot as well... most 'natural' emulation i know.)

I use mame32 of course.

i got mame32 to run by leaving on "stretch useing hardware" and then turinong on direct3d and setting the filter and the other 2 options to none...works perfect =]
