arrow help wit 9600xt pleeeeassseee

hey lads/ladies erm as the topic suggests i have a problem with my asus 9600xt

now what has happened is that i bought this card for the soul purpose of playin cs :P (to get 100fps solid) now the hl engine is fairly old and i presumed that i would get 100fps with a fairly up to date card and this was so for the first few minutes i played cs..now when i would run out into an open area the fps would drop to 30-40-50 then back to 100 and this keeps happening. now if any1 could help me fix this i'd be grateful to them FOREVER < i only want 100fps not too much to ask ...ive listed my specs below and what ive tried:

XP2000
512ddram
ASUS9600xt
Mobo is via chipset based

ive overclocked this card to a successful: Core: 594 Mem:330.8 ive also tried other various speeds but not alot of luck there , im not sure if this a good over clock or not maybe some1 could shed some light on that / or list there oc speeds

ive also tried changing the ap. size in the bios from 128 to 64 but this only made the game laggier. disabling smartgart/running x4/x8 but not alot of difference there. Lastly ive tried lower versions of the catalyst driver/ asus driver/ turning off vsync(turning it on) umm turning down some of the settings in the control pannel options :/ < just about everything i think .

thx for all your help

Do you have Fastwrites enabled or disabled? Also have you tried any INf file tweaks for CS since it is a older game and buggy?

Crash Override is an unknown quantity at this point

Turn off the frame counter

As long as you stay higher than 30FPS it shouldnt affect your gaming at all

soul I dont think your going to get 100fps no matter what you do if your refering to cs 1.6. I have a similar setup:
Mobo with a Via chipset
1800xp
1gig of 2100ddr
and an Asus 9600xt

I do reach 100 but I dont stay there. I noticed more of a benefit with my fps in CS when I added the ram yesterday than I did when I added the vid card. Boost your cpu a little and maybe add some ram, you'll see 100fps solid. Now with other games the vidcard had a huge impact on my fps, I guess some games are just more cpu/ram dependent while others are more video dependent.
