I just picked up a 9800 pro (red card) fron newegg i uninstalled my drivers for my old card installed the new card, then driver.. I booted back into windows every thing looked great.. i can watch movies ect.. but as soon as i try to play a game it looks like a pixel salad flashing black and white ... small white dots.. its bad i dont even know what to call it.. the game keep playing but everyings distorted. I ran direct x diag and it passed fine ? i tried lowering the agp to 4x... all the ati drivers... even dna drivers for 4.2 catalyst. Spell force, homeworld2, call of duty they all have these problems... I tried ice wind dale 2 and everything seamed fine. I dont know what to do can somone please help. iv tried everything i could find in the forum enableing this disabling that and nothing worked.. i dont think its running too hot either i got good air flow.
i ran 3d mark 03 and i got like a 5760 score i dont know if thats bad or not.. the only part of that program that ran with out problems was when it had a dozen or more trolls walking around a chess board.. The card ran pretty baddly doing a pixel render with the elephants...

The most common reasons for such artefacts are overclocking and overheating. So if you got a brand new card wich you haven't overclocked yet then you might well have gotten a faulty part. See if the fan is running at all.

No the fan is working fine it doesnt get too hot . Do u think i should trade it in for another one or go with a diffrent company. I heard good things about saphire but now iv read alot of bad things about the company and there products. Anyone else having similar problems with sapphire graphic cards.

Get an RMA from newegg and return it. You can set this up online, and have the choice of whether you want a REFUND or REPAIR. Was this an OEM bundled card, or in a retail box? I just sent back the refurbished 9800pro card I got from them because of severe artifacting. Was even getting little black squares when I was in my system's BIOS screens.

I ran omega drivers artifacting program and every thing checked out fine. This is an oem sapphire board. I have a ? if these cards are so fast could changing the hardware acceleration on the card change the lack of pixels and fix all the wierd stuff going on... I have a ship screen saver when i run it everything comes out fine except the sales on the ships the keep showing half triangles black and white flashing and the top of the water , you can c lines its a bit funkey too...
Some of my videos work and others its a green screen with lots of crazy scratches.

Yup,
The problem occurs in too many different games by your account, locke - bad cards happen from even the most reputable of manufacturers.

I guess ill rma it. I want to run it in a friends computer to rule out some problems with nforce2 chipsets and ati cards.. I really am stumped. i ran the omega drivers artifact dector program and it ran fine 0 arts. I really think the card is fine it has to be some setting somewhere. Will changing the hardware acceleration have any effect. Iv already take it out, its sitting in a box ... sniff sniff..

It appears to be a faulty pixel shader pipeline in my opinion (it's not important if I'm right or not).

In any case, if this is happening on a brand new stock clocked board, it's RMA time.
