I would sujest that you uninstall all drivers.
then run driver cleaner.
install drivers again. try to install Omega 4.8's not the CAT 4.9
and retest..
if all is well then it was a driver issue.
I'm realy sure that it has nothing to do with the BIOS. since not much has been changed in it..

lol, my bad, i was mixed up with my core clocks , sepose to run at 378 and not 300. All ok now, but im running omega 4.8 again, just for incase...

Will 4.8 have issues or is their some problems on just sertion cards flashed to XT ?

remove the Omega 4.8 and install the CAT 4.9 with my patch..
you'll egt better results since the 4.9's are better optimized. :-)

I'm not sure yet if the next Omega will support the flashed SE's to XT's
if it doesn't you'll have to stick with my patch.

there is no reason at all that this should happen.
have you checked the driver settings?
made sure that AA and AAF are application default and that TAA is disabled.

also make sure that in the advanced option in smartgart that AGP fastwrites is disabled.

if its not that. try reflashing to original SE bios and do the tests again if you get scores in the 4XXX range again then we know for sure that its the drivers. and you might have to install fresh windows in case drivercleaner in safe mode doesn't clear up any settings in your system.

so this modded 4.9 dont work with plain SE?

Tell step for step what to do... eish... i tried everything.
To sum up:

XT + 4.9 (378/600) = 5370
SE + 4.8 (378/600) = 5369

What other combenations must i try?

whats wrong??? these scores you got are great considering the speeds your running at....

flash to XT use the 4.9's I patch and wait till you improove the cooling so you can run on XT speeds.

after you go back to XT try XT speeds and run the tests...one loop only should be fine and tell me what you got.

I´ve got the same card as DjFlame, and Xpertvision 9800SE 128MB(Hynix 2.8 memory) 256 Bit, I would like to grab the modified Bios SE-->XT you made me972 for this card to test how I can push my little card. Also I would like to know wich is the best refrigeraion solution for this kind of card:
A VGA silencer rev. 3, and BGA hetsinks for the memory chips is a good combo?, also I would like to know if is posible to install heatsinks for memory on the two faces of the chip after an VGA silencer rev. 3 installation.

Thx so mcuh for the help and much appreciated in the case you can point me where to get the Xpertvsion "XT" modified Bios

Shalom Achi.... Ma kore...

would be better if you have installed Artic Cooling ATI Silencer rev 3.
you can buy it at www.zigzag2000.co.il
it also cools the memory chips..

Do you speak hebrew ? Btw, i'm from Argentina but right now i'm living in Israel...back to the question, i flashed the card without any kind of problem...412/735 without artifacts...the card seems to be really cold, this Arctic Cooling is doing a good work, i didnt know that the old Revision is better than this one made of copper...anyway, my question is that if i have to buy memory skins...the memory chips dont get hot, i have the case opened, it has a really good air flow.

Another question is that if the card could get demaged working all the day at 412/735...i am scared ...

.

add mem sinks should give better cooling... if the card is ok now and no artifacts then you shouldn't have any problems at all.. and there shouldn't be a problem runing 27/7...
the card is cool while idle but believe me that after an hours time of playing
FARCRY it will be burning hot.!
I also have my case opend and had added a 80mm fan on top of my card just to be sure it's getting some extra AIR..

I thought about buying it and I had no one to ask about it...
I actualy thought about watter cooling but seeing your O/C from 2.8Ghz to 3.6Ghz makes me think about getting one.. in any case watter cooling in Israel costs more then a brand new PC!!!! #$##$% &^

the TT silent tower is GREAT!!!

the thing is soooo quiet i can hear the Giant2 ticking away!!

But I do need Xtra cooling for my Northbridge coz sumtimes it just restarts for no reason and the northbridge is B *ch HOT!

TT Extreme Spirit sounds good

Back on subject: I would recommend the Silent tower to any moderate OCer,
Just Remember that there are two types. an ALL copper and one with copper Heatpipes and Alu fins! I got the Alu/Copper one but if you can get the All copper version +/- $20 more

seeing you got the same CPU as me get ready for benches like this!!!

Just another reminder!! turn fast-writes off!!!
Then you are pretty much garanteed and successfull mod!!!

Cheers!
Having fastwrites on or off has not baring on a mod being successful...
your card should work just fine with F/W on or off.. it has been prooven that
f/w on 9800 series will cause preformance to drop and so OMEGA drivers
by default install with it disabled..
there is not reason not to enable it and test your card with it ON so as to proove if its good or bad for you.

as for the TT silent tower - can you provide me with your CPU temps
under full load for 10 minutes and during Idea.???

contact via MSN messenger or email. at : me972@hotmail.com
I'd preffer to have screen shots of the ASUS probe for this...

thanks.

I just perfromed the SE to XT flash on my Powercolor 9800SE 128MB (with 256bit interface) card and its working wonderfully right now. I tried the 4.9 Omega's to see if it recognized the card as a 9800XT and it didn't. The same thing happened with the 4.8's. Finally, I tried the 4.7 Omega's and it worked! I would like to see the 4.9 Omega's recognize this card, but I guess I'll have to wait until someone posts a solution or a fix.

I need you to look in to the ATI tool settings...

after loading ATITOOL press settings on the lower right corner and
and in the list you get the first option is the DEVICE ID.
check what the ID is and post it for me.. and I'll solve this for you. :-)

Ok then the ID is a known bug in the process of converting an SE to XT.

send me an email to me972@hotmail.com
and I'll send you a patch file for the Omega drivers.

there shouldn't be a problem in the installation of the drivers...
the problems in the 4.9 Omega are after the install process is done and when you enter the COntrol Pannel - you get an ID error. all other programs and games work fine even without the patch... but its better to be safe then sorry,.

if the problems are during install - then I'll explain it in the email I send you.
just write and tell me where exactly you get the probelm.

I'll be waiting on your email.
