Dont be overly fascinated with the temperature reading feature of your card, pay attention to what's happening on screen, look for artifact's, trust your eye's, not your card's thermal probe.

Well i have not seen anything wrong with the graphics or anything i am very happy with my card. Just that i hear the fan going and i go to my display properties click on the Overdrive tab and it read the current temp is 71-73C. But i have not enabled the Overdrive yet because i have notice this temp reading of 71-73C. But the reason i why i am asking the community here is because i trust all of you and i i totally appreicate your help. To the communty any imput would be great, thank you community of DriverHeaven. So any help would be great.

That is a littlehigh. I also have a 9800XT (BBA) and once I took the silly little fan off, and that plastic
hoodscoop off...bolted a Vantec Tornado to the HS...the core shows at most 56C. Right now, I'm back to using my Gigabyte 9800 Pro until I figure something out for really cooling my 9800 XT core. (Thing doesn't o'clock worth crap. My Giga will run at higher speeds than the XT) I would look for a better cooling solution. Either a super loud...hurricane fan, or liquid/vapor cooling. |

That temp is a little high, but still within range for that card. Go here Overdrive Temp Ranges to see what temperatures Overdrive looks at to determine the overclocking. As you will notice, it doesn't overdrive very much at this time, and memory overclocking should be coming in the future.
