ati radeon 9600 acting up!!!

HELP!!! I've had my radeon 9600 for about a year now. It worked fine when I bought it.

Then I had to reinstall Windows XP because of a virus I got... thats when everything got messed up..

Anyway.. I reinstalled windows, reinstalled the gfx drivers (from the cd, then the updated drivers from ati.com)

Well... The driver on the CD - It is outdated but works fine. The games I play just don't accept that old driver.
The driver on the website (all of them) cause my computer to do some crazy polygon corruption!

There will be thin walls infront of me that arent supposed to be there, flat triangles extending out of guns, players, tables, chairs, anything 3d, and everything is crazy!

If ANYONE can help, PLEASE help!!
