ati radeon 9800xt is gay ?

hi , i have a 3ghz , 1024 ram , ati radeon 9800xt , asus a7n8x deluxe motherboard , so its a pretty nice comp . But , something seems wrong , my fps on games such as unreal tournament 2003/2004 is always diffrent , sometimes its lower then with my old ge4 ! why is it like this ? what should i change to get a good frame rate ? my friend that has a exactly same comp only that he has a geforce fx 5700 ultra has a steady 150 fps on ut2k4 while i have a unstable 40-100 , how can that be ? shouldnt my graphic card be way better then his ? i run catalyst 4.3 and i have default settings on (havent changed anything)

With this machine was it a fresh install of Windows with the ATi card or did you just pull the nVidia card out and slap the ATi in?

I don't think the 9800 has the physical entities to be 'gay'.

I'd check what you've got running in the background, and certainly consider a fresh install, what Hard drive are you using as well. They're could be a bottleneck in the system.

Also..... if you posted up more of the system specs... such as PSU/Version of windows/Drivers/etc. .. the more then marrier...

well everything on my comp is new besides the hdd, its a 40 GB , but that shouldnt be the problem ?

The 9800 does have a sexual preference... it prefers a female agp slot to put itself in

and the HDD is what 2 or 8 mb cache 10000 7200 5400 rpm....
what is the speed of ram... 133 100 pc2100 2700 3200 3700 4000 4200? definitely post ur psu cuzit maybe not be getting eunff power... and if your are homophobic and would like to ditch ur xt ill be glad to take it off ur hands

Hmmm, here are some potential warning signs of video card gayness:

1. The area around your AGP slot is fastidiously clean, and decorated with doilies.
2. Your video card installation instructions refer to the "AG-Poo" slot.
3. The cooling fan whine sounds strangely like a medley of show tunes.
4. When you load "Madden NFL," the display inexplicably zooms in to Terrell Owens' buttocks.
5. UT2004 colors appear bright, cheery & pastel, and the Skarjj are wearing Gucci loafers.
6. Your S-Video plug is labelled INPUT, not OUTPUT.

Rasta please refrain from the language, and Crash we all know the part you played for DH, but shouting down other members of the board as to what is right or wrong is not going to earn you the respect you think you deserve. Leave that to the mods, instead of throwing accusations around and baiting other members, report the post as you eventually did and it wouldn't begin to escalate like this.
