![]() edit- maybe I'll win the contest for one... Oh, and look at this quote: "The ATI RADEON™ X800 PRO delivers frame rates that surpass any previous graphics processor making it the world’s most powerful VPU." Bold statement- so I guess it must be faster than the 6800u Last edited by BWX; May 1, 2004 at 02:22 AM. |

Isn't that sorta shady business practice there? I mean we don't even officially know what the card has for sure do we?
Perhaps its just a bit premature. |

SMOOTHVISION™ HD
"3Dc™ - Normal map image compression technology resulting in high detail image quality" "Temporal Anti-Aliasing" What's 3Dc? or was that covered somewhere already? I must have missed it- buy there's the Temporal AA being advertised.. Also why the hell aren't they giving the clock speed? -and why isn't this the XT?

BE WARNED!!!
This is most likely a scam people. For one the NDA is still in place. For another the price seems a little off. Does this mean the XT will cost 600 Dollars? I highly doubt that.

I don't see how they can do this- It seems like when the date comes around, and they don't have the product to ship, they will have to give everyone back their money..
But maybe they will just be jerks and keep it, and make everyone take them to court to get it back, and when they do finally get the cards in stock, they'll ship the cards out.. of course by that time the cards will probably be on sale for a lot less... Someone should call allstarshop and see what they say- probably a lot of "no more info at this time" BS.....

If I pre-ordered one of those cards, I'd take a screenshot and save the page with the ad- And if I didn't get the card on time, or got a different card, I'd be calling the BBB.

Why would anyone preorder anyways.. i mean.. Zero Benches/reviews have been published.... sometimes i wonder if peoples money think for themselves.. or if they are so loyal they would walk into a death trap if they were told to... However, i must state that there are those that do know and preorder (damn those with NDAS! )..... and those that CAN get one of everything (may get them just to try out... and can afford it.. or have no worries)...Still... wouldn't mind having it on my lap! ![]() EDIT: correction... not my lap.. in my machine!

I don't think it's a scam. I actually live in the area where that shop is located--it's very close to Irvine, California and near South Coast Plaza. I bought a 9800NP from there last year.
As for the price, you gotta remember that when a new product comes out, it is ALWAYS overpriced. |

If you live in the U.S., then wait for Newegg to have these in stock and wait for reviews of the card. They are charging 500 knowing that people want it so bad that some will pay in advance when the card will most likely only cost 400 when it is officially available.
