Radeon x800 SE

Hey,
Dell seems to be offering the Radeon x800 SE it their new 8400 computers that support PCI, so what´s the deal on them? are they like the other Radeon SE versions (a card that didn´t quite reach the quality levels to be called a x800 Pro maybe) THe thing is that I just bought a couple of months ago a Asus rAdeon 9800 pro (now flashed to XT) and i have the option of buying a 4600, and upgrading the power supplly to 425 and adding aditional cooling, to keep using my ASUS. So, should I go for the x800 SE in a 8400, or try to squeeze as much possible from an upgraded 4600?

Check to make sure that it isnt a typo and what they REALLY mean is a 9800SE. Its worth a look into.

System Specs

i have heard that dell is putting x800 SE's in their machines. from what i've heard about the SE it's not much of a boost over the 9800xt

What´s 3Dc?
Oh...and the problem seems to be solved, I´m getting a x800 XE after all PCI version for the new motherboard, so I guess I´ll be selling my Asus after less than four months...I´m starting to feel like one of the gang here, since so many of you go broke for tech the minute it goes out It´ll be nice to be on the cutting edge for once on thech too

the x800se isn't a typo. it's sort of like the 9600se, which is worse than the 9600 nonpro. i probably wouldnt upgrade with the x800se and get a regular x800 or an x800 pro.

what video card do you have now? i have heard the 9800xt was ridiculously priced and not a good investment. it has already been beat out by the x800 xt by distances. im probably going to wait a few months to see how the x800 stacks up then. i dont have large pocketbooks, so pretty much do hours of research before i buy. hopefully the x800xt will last longer than a year.

hahah yeah the 9800XT was a bit overpriced. It got good enough framerates though...the main problem was that it wasnt really too much of a step up from the 9800PRO

I have a 9800SE modded to PRO btw. And yeah its a full pro the way it is now, not a cruddy psuedo-pro.

its funny, cause for alot of things it runs really well, but doom3 just isnt cutting it for me I guess. *sigh* oh well. I was all excited that it was high powered when UT2004 ran with everything to max, VERY high res, 8xAF and 8xTAA. good times. but other games not so well. sigh again.
