OpenGL completely disabled on 9800 Pro

Hey,

I'm at my wits end here, and I'm hoping someone can help me. Currently, my 9800 Pro is not using ANY OpenGL extensions. I've tried Catalyst 4.7, 4.9, and the latest Omegas. All of these installs were done AFTER uninstalling previous drivers, and using Driver Cleaner 3.2 to clean up the rest.

No matter what, I can't seem to get my extensions off of the Generic GDI, and onto the Catalyst drivers. My Direct 3D support is working perfectly.

The only thing I can vaguely account for this is that I've had a history of problems between my Soyo Dragon MB and the 9800. But I simply can find nothing about this on the internet.

Does anyone know of a program which perhaps allows you to manually select your OpenGL drivers? Or perhaps someone has run into this problem before. I haven't done anything unusual, and this is probably the result of a bad install.

I actually reverted back to a much earlier System Image earlier today, and the OpenGL was working fine, but that was with the 4.4 Catalysts, as soon as I upgraded, wah lah, OpenGL broken again.

I'm on my wits end here, and about to just re-reference my machine. Hopefully someone can save me the trouble.

Here are the system specs:
XP 3000
MB Soyo Dragon (VIA) with latest 4-in-1 Driver.
ATI Radeon 9800Pro (1st party)
1GB RAM

Again Direct 3D works great, OpenGL is completely non-functional. None of my OpenGL extensions are hooked up. OpenGL Extensions Viewer is saying I'm still using the GDI Generic OpenGL drivers.

**Edited to Add:**
Ah yes, two more symptons of my problem:

1.) Multiple monitors are appearing in my Device Manager, EIGHT to be precise. I can't get rid of them, I've tried. I'm only running ONE NEC Multisync Monitor.
2.) SmartGART is not showing up in my ATI Control Panel. Totally missing. It doesn't appear after manually installing control panel or any of the driver sets.

OK, now I've tried the latest DNA drivers and Direct X 9.0c, neither of which have helped..

you could try reinstalling your monitor drivers and/or motherboard drivers. it seems to me like you have a botched installation somewhere in there. if all else fails, revert back to the 4.4s and just stick with them.

Ah... the soyo dragons.

I also have a friend who had one of these. Nothing worked for him either when it came to ATi cards.
Is there any way you can change out the mobo?
