9800SE flashed to XT driver problems ever since 4.8

any one with a moded 9800SE to 9800XT (via bios flash) having problems with ATI or OMEGA drivers not recognizing you'r CARD ever since the 4.8 version:

hmmm... so that is why the Unian and Omega version of the 4.8 CATs didn't work on my card. Count me in bro. I would gladly have the 4.9 Cats for my 9800se.

had some problems when i tried the cat 4.9 using the xt bios had to change the id on the bios to be reconized,with the id of my original bios becouse if you don`t do thid its show an error when trying to install the driver.

well 2 replys in one night about driver problems...

I'll start working on a Driver release for you guys....

I just need you to post your DEVICE ID's for me.

you can find it in ATI TOOL right lower corner "SETTINGS" button.
and then the first line tels whats the device ID..

hmmmmmm the first "me972" driver release coming up...version 4.9.0.1

1 way i worked aroun after me informed me a long time ago it was the id`s i changed the id to a 9800pro id but it was a xt bios an i still got xt speeds

:-) ... changing the ID's to PRO on an XT BIOS makes the drivers recognize your card as a PRO thus you loos some of the XT optimizations.

Better you take the CAT 4.9 with my patch and reflash your BIOS with XT ID"s

you'll get better preformance

the patched worked with the official 4.9 CATs. It gave me a 400pts boost in 3dmark03. I was wondering if there will be issues with the latest OMEGA's. Any one tried it so far?

The patch is not intended for OMEGA drivers...I will download and test the new Omega drivers and see if they support and solve the flashed SE's to XT problem
if not then I'll release a patch for OMEGA drivers too.

I'll keep you posted in a day or two.
