AIW 9600XT or AIW 9800 PRO

I'm unsure about what of these cards I'll buy.

Can someone help my decision?

Thanks!

The AIW 9800 is a far superior card to the 9600 line

Only get the AIW 9600XT if you're willing to sacrifice the extra gaming power of the 9800 for the FM radio tuner the 9600 has.

You got it for free!!???

My doubt about these two video cards is because the difference about 40% in the cost...
The AIW 9800 PRO performance is SO superior than AIW 9600XT?

Sorry Davisorle... I live in Brazil so the shipment and taxes will be so high... I'm thinking in these intermediary cards because I still cannot buy an 6800 or X800.

There's mutch difference between an AIW 9800 PRO and an 9800 PRO - VIVO?
The video capture function of VIVO cards is (in quality and speed terms) equivalent to the AIW?

I have the AIW 9600XT and my dad has the AIW 9800Pro. I got the 9600XT for the FM radio, TV capture, and dual VGA. If you really don't need or want these, then get the 9800Pro. Between my dad and myself though, my card has outperformed him many times. He can't get his capture to work, but mine does..... Anyway, If you really dont want the extra features, then get the 9800Pro, but i think the 9600XT is better.

Man that's a first. A 9600XT outperforming a 9800 Pro? Sorry but I'd have to witness that to believe it.

No, it doesn't. Also does not have dual-VGA support; you can only connect 1 monitor to the AIW9800Pro, but 2 to the AIW9600XT.

Yes, the 9800Pro is much faster than 9600XT, probably about 40-50%.

The AIW only has the extra TV tuner, the VIVO doesn't have it. Speed and quality is the same.

Thanks to all of you people!
I really want the TV and FM tunner funcions, so I'll get the AIW 9600XT because I think that it can do the work with almost all games and have all the extras that I want.

With decent case cooling (I just use a PCI slot fan next to the card), you should be able to OC the AIW 9600XT well enough to compensate (not necessarily equal) for the slower chipset. Be careful though, too much OC'ing will mess with the capture aspects. (But not much)

Also remember...ATI put a faster 9600XT chip in the AIW line.

I also like the dual VGA...

i would never even consider buying a 9600XT over a 9800 pro anyday.

Like someone said, ATI put a faster chipset in the AIW version of the 9600XT. I have the 9600XT AIW, and my buddy has the 9800Pro AIW, and there is nothing that his card can do that mine cant as of today (Up to Doom3). Once Half Life 2 comes out I am sure we will see a difference then. I would not go to fare and say that the 9800Pro has 40 to 50 percent more graphics power, that is BS.
