Bios Crc

I downloaded the 9700 Pro bios from the Omega site. When I open it with RaBit it tells me

BIOS CRC is Wrong!

What does this mean?

Ok, I have downloaded this several times and always the same result. I just used RaBit to save the file and when I opened it again there was no error. Is there anything to worrry about with this file or is this normal?

It means you probably have to re-download the file again. CRC stands for Cyclic Redundancy Checking, its kind of like a function run on a file to see if its in working order. If not, the PC cant open it.

OK. Then the file you've been downloading is kaplunk.

Try downloading another BIOS file from a different site, or the same one from a different site. I used the Hercules 9700np bios for my card.

(good thing I revisit my posts, I would have never seen this miscoozi !!!! I must have looked real dumb LOL

i downloaded the file last week, edited it with rabit and had to problems. wierd.

I'm beginning to think there's a middle man somewhere along the line during your download intercepting the file, and editting the thing.......it is very likely for a BIOS file.

still think it's strange.. i just downloaded it... used rabit and it turned out fine for me...
