ASUS X800XT PE or ASUS A8V Deluxe (VIA K8T800Pro) problem?

ASUS X800XT PE or ASUS A8V Deluxe (VIA K8T800Pro) problem?

My problem is the graphics freeze in FarCry, Unreal Tournament 2003, Dawn of War and Battlefield 1942 ver. 1.6, sometimes, only in FarCry, the VPU-recover activates and I can continue playing, in Dawn of War it simply freezes and I have to reboot it manually, in Battlefield 1942 the computer reboots automatically after a while and in Unreal Tournament it simply freezes. No problems in Windows at all or any other applications, only in these games since that’s all I play at the moment, and Civilization doesn't give me any problems either.

I’ve tried the following drivers:

CAT 4.9 and CAT 4.10
Omega 2.5.9.0
ASUS ATI VGA ver. 8.05 with and without Enhanced Driver ver. 1.13

Done a careful uninstall and cleaning before installing new drivers.

I’ve tried the following settings in the BIOS:

AGP: 4X and 8X

Amount of RAM on card: 64, 128 and 256
Fastwrites: On and off (using ”off” as primary setting)
PCI-VGA snoop (something): Off
Voltage for AGP: Auto (guess that’s the safest, using auto in all voltage settings)

My graphiccard runs at temperatures between 45 degrees celcius and tops at 70 degrees celcius while under load.
I’ve tried using the ”Overdrive”-function and not.

I’ve installed the latest Hyperion 4 in 1 drivers from VIA, the 4.53, with and without the AGP-drivers, using the Windows AGP-drivers as recommended by VIA.

I’ve heard a little about the ”Hyperdrive”-function on the motherboard, but I don’t know how to disable that, if I have to?

I’ve even removed the card and drivers and inserted my old 9700 Pro, and it works fine with the drivers in all games, just can’t get the graphics I bought the AX800XT PE for.

These are the specifications for my machine:

Board: ASUS A8V Deluxe (VIA K8T800Pro)
Graphic vard: ASUS AX800XT PE
RAM: Kingston 2 x 512MB 3200
Processor: AMD FX-53
System: Windows XP service pack 2
Harddisc: Seagate Barracuda 60 GB
PSU: Can’t remember, but should be sufficient. Less than a year old.
Sound card: Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS

DirectX: Ver 9.0c

The ONLY thing I haven’t tried yet is a completely reinstallation of Windows, and I won’t be able for a couple of weeks.

So any suggestions are very welcome..

Best regards.
