Thinking of Upgrading Dad's PC
Ok so Ive been thinking for a while what would be the best Vid card to purchase for my dad's Athlon XP2200+ machine with 512DDR333.. without it getting too CPU Limited... since the highest Res. He can go up to is 1280x1024... I was thinking of something along the lines of a 9600XT or maybe going up to a BFG 6800OC that I saw in Best Buy for 300$... I know that's not the cheapest but its the easiest I'll get it... I was wondering what you guys thought would be the best..

9800 Pro should be good enough. If you get something like the 6800 series, you might not recieve much benefit, because of the slow-ish CPU used in the computer. (unless you are planning to upgrade CPU/mobo also . . . .)

I was thinking that the 6800 was going to be held back by the CPU.. ok.. I'll most likely go with the 9800 Pro or 9600XT like my brother has *nods* thanks

9600XT isn't a really good choice for HL2, the 9800pro would be the best for it, and it's as low as 185 dollars
