CS:Source FPS

Hey all.

I've got a Radeon 9800 Pro, and on CS:S I'm only getting around 60 FPS with nothing going on, and in the 30s in a firefight. I've been hearing people with 9800 Pros getting FPS in the 90s, and people with lesser cards are getting more than me. I'm wondering what would be slowing my card down? Is it the processor, a setting, or what? I've tried changing the settings for source, but best I could get was about 60.

Here are my specs

AMD Athlon XP 2800+
512 MB RAM
200 GB HD

Welcome to DH, what drivers do you have installed. Have you tried the 4.12 beta that ATI just released that have HL2 tweakage?

You can also try getting more Ram for your system, it allways helps. Also check for the latest bios, chipset drivers, service pack and Dx9.x for your system.

Thanks.

I'm using the 4.11 drivers right now, I tried installing the 4.12 betas but it wouldn't let me install them. As it was installing it gave a error but I can't remember right now what it said. I'm going to try DLing them again when I get home, because now it is suppose to be win2k compatible, and I am using win2k, so hopefuly it fixes that problem. I'm pretty sure all my other drivers are up to date, but I'll check again when I get home.
