I get shit performance with my x800 PRO too. I've had the problem for months, I haven't figured out the issue yet. Generally I can figure problems out like this one, but not this time. I have no idea what's wrong, I suppose I'll have to take my rig to a computer repair store or something.
Anyway, I have: Pentium 4 2.8ghz 800fsb Radeon x800 PRO Gig of Dual Channel ram Soyo mobo (the exact model escapes me right now) On-board sound I get around 24-120 fps in Half Life 2. It's crazy, when someone gets on screen I go down to 30 fps, and if there's nobody on screen it make go up to 60 fps or higher. Pisses me off... |
