What do you think?

Looking to upgrade my vid card. Finding some good deals, but they are factory refurbished OEM models. The company has a good rep, etc. To find a good replacement card to last a year or 2, is it usually safe to get refurbed vid cards? any insight/assistance appreciated.

if you upgrade your vid card often, or are on a really tight budget, get factory refurbed cards and save money, otherwise go for regular OEM or retail. also make sure they still have full waranty coverage.

i personally wouldn't get a refurbished card. I would rather get a used card over a refurb.

Refurbs are sketchy. Refurb is another way of saying "this card was messed up before and we hopefully fixed it". They never say how it was fixed either. I've seen some hokey stuff with wires to connect different sections of the board. If you do decide to get a refurb, make sure you get a decent warranty.

I was bitten once with a refurb/display model...never again. Spend the extra dough.
