??? ATI Radeon 9700 pro with Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe

Hi,

I am about to buy me a new MOBO namely the ASYS A7N8X-E Deluxe (seems like a pretty good mobo to me... )

I was wondering... For the moment I am running a ASRock MOBO with an Hercules ATi 9700 PRO graph card and during gameplay it often crashes... I get a black screen etc... I know buying a 32$ mobo is not a good choice...

Now before I get totally thrilled about buying the ASUS I was wondering if sombedy has this configuration and if its working fine....

I am a gamer (HL2, Counter Strike Source, Star Wars BF...), and they all crash with my current config... So please enlite me with some advice

Thx !

close to what you're looking at...

I don't have your exact same config, but something close.

An ASUS A7V333 motherboard w/ an ATI (not Hercules) 9700 pro. Works like a charm.

Given the A7V333 is much older I wouldn't expect you to have any problems. W/ the exception that my board is only 333mhz DDR (not 333mhz FSB - grrr) and a bit of false-advertising on ASUS part, I've been really happy with the config.

Nope... Current system is not overclocked... I simply think this is a case of WYPIWYG (What you pay is what you get)... I know ASUS mb's are very stable and the NVIDIA chipset has the reputation of being a good chip for playing games... so hence the choice for changing mobo...

BTW ... I also will be changing the power supply...

Tulcakelume : do you play games with this config ?

Big Grin Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe with ATI Radeon 9700

Hi dBaser,

I use Asus A7N8X-E deluxe with 1012 bios along with Sapphire Atlantis Radeon 9700 128MB for 3 years. So far, there is no problem. My system is overclocked a bit with Barton 2500 @200x11.

I just cannot overclock my vga card due to annoying vpu recover with Omega 5.4 using radlinker. This was not happen with Cat 3.6. I could overclock my vga to 337.5/317.5.
