System Specs

my DVD playback is really bad

freezing frames, pixelated frames at times… not watchable at all

radeon 9600 se
lite on LDW451S DVD r/w
win xp pro sp2
athlon xp 2500+ @ 2.2ghz
1 gb ddr 400 ram

using power DVD 5 and 6 yields the same result, i haven't tried any other softs yet, but i'm not sure if the issue is specific to these apps

hmmm windvd 6 seems to work fine for me… i guess i'll stick with that

btw, is dma enabled?
also firmware updated on the drive?

try ripping a dvd and watching it off the hd

my old dvd player was crappin' out cuz of dma
my other one, firmware

yea...enable DMA and also make sure your codecs are up to date

dma is enabled, cyberlink powerdvd installed yesterday and upto date
firmware updated too
windvd works fine however

what windows?
i had trouble on windows me and 98 playing dvd, lol, it would BSOD at times or just free

try without them drivers, use regular ms drivers?
if that still doesn't work, try different ide cable?
the nforce 2 ide drivers don't work well as i heard
