9600XT crash whit opengl in CS:CZ

Hi,

I have a ati 9600xt and when I play cs:cz in direct3d, my game freeze and lag like hell and I have amd 2500+ 512ram. When I put in opengl, the game if fine for about 15min and after, I LOST my dvi connection, so my screen said "No more signal" and I have to reset my compu.

I have the lastest driver 4.12 from ati and I really don't know what's the problem, so I need your help. Did I need a bios upgrade for my video card? Is yes, where I get it?

Thanks for all your help.

If you are using the 4.12 drivers with the Catalyst Control Center and .NET Framework 1.1 installed, ditch them, the Catalyst Control Center, and .NET Framework and install the 4.12 driver and classic ATI Control Panel instead. Use DriverCleaner 3 from this site and follow directions for a complete uninstall and cleaning, then laod up the 4.12's w/ ATI Control Panel, and don't forget to uninstall the .NET Bloatwork....ah....I mean .NET Framework.

Also maybe try setting AGP Aperture in your PC's BIOS setup to 128 or 256 and see if that helps.

I have Sapphire 9600XT 256mb card and the 4.12 driver and Catalyst Control Center caused lagging and stuttering in Call of Duty United Offensive, which is an OpenGL game. When I use 4.12 driver and ATI Classic Control Panel, the lagging and stuttering seems to go away.

Ok, I will try this.

What do you mean buy "Also maybe try setting AGP Aperture in your PC's BIOS setup to 128 or 256 and see if that helps." ??

Thanks for your help.

In your PC's BIOS setup, which you enter by pressing "Del" key while PC is just beginning to boot, there should be an option under Advanced Chipset Setup or similar title, the option will be titled "AGP Aperture". It can usually be set to several different values: 32, 64, 128, 256, 512. Try each of the sizes and see if any of them help.

For me, 512 seems to be best. I have 9600Xt 256mb card and Call of Duty united Offensive was having graphic stuttering and lagging problem until I set AGP Aperture to 512. Also, try using the 4.12 drivers with ATI Control Panel instead of Catalyst Control Center. My problem with stuttering and lagging in CoD United Offensive was much worse when the Catalyst Control Center and .Net Framework were installed.

Surely there must be some way to unlock it. ASUS usually has very user-configurable BIOS.
