Overclocking MSI 9800 PRO
Hello ,
Anybody there??? a ![]() Ok here is the catch i just bought MSI 9800 PRO(R360) i had 9200 )) big jump to extrem for me after instalation Everywhere is reqognized by 9800XT i use catalyst 5.3 MSI suck with drivers!!!Ok it has some good? cooling puted on her so of course i clocked it with ati tool, and it finds her GPU max of 430MHz and Ram 363=726MHz. On default pro mode i win on 3Dmark 03 5900 and of course i colcked hers ram more than 762MHz se can go up to 400=800MHz but there are some glitches not too much but I KEEP her core on 425MHz and ram 380=760MHz and works good i win about 7100 on 3Dmark 03 good but . Even cooling it with stock it is good but stock is bad in cooling RAM!!! So i am thinking to PUT Zalman ZM80D-HP http://www.zalmanusa.com/usa/product...x=138&code=013 Question is IS IT WORT TO PUT ON!!!! Will it be able to go higher 450>460 and up and thoes anyone use this cooling and is it GOOD????? Thanks )

If you want a fanless GPU cooler, then yes, it would be worth it. Personally, I don't think it would do much better than your stock cooling (though I could be wrong), and it certainly won't be as effective as a beefier active cooling solution. If the fan on the card is too loud and bugs you, then I would say, yes, go with the new cooler.

I was locking for artic cooling but unfortunaly in my country they dont know what is it!!! Unfortunaly we have a lot of Nvidia and less fanATIcs!!!
With this zalman cooling they also include a fan,and with him performans of cooling increas wery much, but is this good for RAM , is there any site where i can se specification of my ram.....

I think indeed an Arctic Silencer is a better option for getting higher clockspeeds, because what I can remember it was able to cool the RAM on your videocard actively
.But I think that the highest overclockingresults you could gain with an Arctic Silencer, is around the 395/400 MHz (x 2 = 790/800 MHz, while it is DDR), so I don't know whether or not it is worth the trouble... I mean that you have to be careful when putting that new cooler on, I know guys who killed their card 'in the action' . But when it's your hobby, just go for it!
